The legal firm Dougherty Quinn has appointed Stephen Dougherty as a senior associate.
Mr Dougherty comes from Withers in the British Virgin Isles, where he held the same position, and has extensive experience of insolvency, commercial litigation and corporate work.
He has spent his career to date in London, Cayman and the BVI but he grew up in the Isle of Man and says it was always his intention to return to work here one day.
Head of Corporate at DQ, Tom Maher says the firm has been investigating the possibility of offering BVI legal advice to clients for over a year now.
However, the biggest difficulty faced was finding the right senior lawyer to take on the role and drive the BVI law practice forward.
He says Stephen is well qualified for this challenge having previously worked with leading international firms.
