Bridson & Horrox, the Isle of Man's largest printer, stationer and office furniture supplier is, this year, celebrating 75 years in the business.
The company plans a year-long celebration.
A family owned business, Bridson & Horrox was founded in 1933 by Henry (Harry) Horrox and Marshal Bridson. World War II temporarily interrupted the company's growth, but after the war the company continued to grow by supporting the Island's tourism industry. In 1963, Harry's son Ian took the helm as the second generation of leadership, having already sharpened his skills at a London publishing company.
During the 1970s the company expanded its market to provide products such as paper tissues, chip trays and paper bags. In the 1980s, with the advent of the office photocopier, Bridson and Horrox launched its office stationery department to meet the demand for A4 boxed paper and more, adding furniture to its growing product portfolio.
The company is now moving forward into its third generation of leadership with Ian's son Darren in the role of managing director.
