Regulator says there is no genuine company in the Isle of Man named Independent Trust Credit
The Island's finance regulator is warning of a bogus website claiming to have an address in the Isle of Man.
The Financial Services Authority says itrustcredit.com purports to offer a wide range of financial products and have an office on Athol Street, but the site is a partial clone of another website belonging to a genuine UK company.
The FSA found there is no genuine company in the Isle of Man named Independent Trust Credit, and that the address listed on the website doesn't exist.
The authority fears anyone who has accessed the website could potentially become the victim of fraud or identity theft, and anyone who has dealt with the site is urged to notify the police.
