
A packed businesss breakfast seminar has heard an expert view on the future of the Isle of Man's Zero-ten corporate tax regime.
Assessor of income tax Malcolm Couch was guest speaker at the Lloyds TSB event at the Claremont Hotel on Wednesday.
He told delegates now Treasury has promised to remove a controversial element of Zero-ten, further criticsm of the Manx model would be 'difficult to sustain'.
But Mr Couch warned pressure from the EU was not likely to go away.
He said the Manx government must constantly think whether there was more the Isle of Man could do on transparency and cooperation with other countries, to stabilise its position as a 'well-regarded finance centre'.
