Gamers and industry await TT videogame reveal

The TT course could be back in the spotlight again just a fortnight after this year’s festival.

Speculation’s mounting that video game company Polyphony Digital will reveal the circuit will feature in the next instalment of its racing franchise Gran Turismo.

The company is due to unveil more details about the game during this year’s E3 event in Los Angeles in mid-June.

For months, the games press has been speculating the TT course may be the highlight of Gran Turismo 7, to be released on the PlayStation 4 in 2016 or 2017.

Rumours about the iconic 37 and-three-quarters-mile circuit being included in the game have abounded since a team from Sony surveyed the course last year.

But increasingly, gaming outlets are reporting GT7 will bring a new race course to the game, based on and probably named after the Mountain Course.

Gran Turismo games have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide, making it the biggest-selling Playstation-only series of all time.

If the rumours prove true, it'll be the first time the course has featured in a game since Suzuki TT Superbikes was released in 2005.
