It'll be invested in environmental and social projects
Treasury has raised a 30 year sustainable bond which is intended to support investment of £400 million in projects and expenditure across the Island.
The ‘Sustainable Finance Framework’, under which the bond was issued, was structured by HSBC with support from Barclays and Santander.
Money raised will be invested in projects such as clean transport, renewable energy, access to education, healthcare and affordable housing.
HSBC says this puts the Isle of Man at the forefront of the latest developments in green and social financing.
