Plans have been submitted to demolish the Grand Island Hotel in Ramsey.
The landmark building, owned by millionaire Trevor Hemmings, closed down early last year after serving the Island for over 100 years, and increased vandalism at the site has led to an application to pull it down.
However, chairman of Ramsey Commissioners Nigel Malpass, says plans to build 68 apartments in its place will not go ahead until a replacement hotel is built between Mooragh Park and the promenade:
