Island-based gaming giant to reopen 2,445 English shops

GVC Holdings operates Ladbrokes and Coral from Athol Street

An Island-based gambling giant has announced plans to reopen all of its betting outlets across England from Monday (15 June).

GVC Holdings operates almost two-and-a-half-thousand (2,445) Ladbrokes and Coral branches across the country.

The move comes as the UK Government continues to relax Covid-19 restrictions, by allowing non-essential shops to open their doors from next week.

GVC Holdings says as well as being given PPE, its staff are being trained on new social distancing and safety measures, to protect both them and customers.

These include cleaning and disinfection of gaming machines and bet stations, as well as property maintenance checks prior to reopening.

Glass barriers and floor markings will also be installed, plus hand sanitising stations.

Based on Athol Street in Douglas, the public limited company announced plans in February to relocate its headquarters - including its tax residence - to the UK, following an extraordinary general meeting in Gibraltar.
