Villa venue for conference
Around 200 data protection professionals are gathering in the Island from the UK, Channel Islands and Gibraltar for a prestigious industry conference today (10 May).
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) conference is being held at the Villa Marina, in a day-long event taking place between 9am and 5pm.
It's been organised by Isle of Man Information Commissioner Iain McDonald, in association with the Manx government, at a cost of £175 per delegate.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle will welcome delegates expecting a packed programme covering issues like privacy, governance, data security and transparency.
Representatives from the European Commission will also be on hand to explain current directives and field questions.
