Every junior cyclist competing in the Royal London 360° Isle of Man youth cycling league now has a compact first aid kit, thanks to the life assurance company.
Six hundred kits have been donated to the youth league, comprising waterproof plasters, antiseptic wipes and lint dressings, increasing the amount of safety equipment youngsters have.
Royal London 360° has sponsored the Isle of Man youth league since 1992, part of that under its former guise as Scottish Provident International.
As well as committing £4,000 in sponsorship every year, support is also provided in the form of clothing and other equipment. The youth league runs between April and August each year; 583 children competed throughout the 2009 season.
Dot Tilbury, organiser of the Royal London 360° Isle of Man youth league, commented: ‘I would like to thank Royal London 360° for its continued support for junior cycling in the Isle of Man – without this we would certainly not be able to achieve as much success as we do year on year.
‘A first aid kit is an essential piece of kit for any sportsperson and this is a very thoughtful donation which I know will be very useful to all of our junior cyclists.’
Natalie Dutton, Head of Marketing at Royal London 360°, added: ‘I am delighted we are able to provide such an important piece of safety equipment for all of the cyclists who compete in the Royal London 360° youth league. We really believe in being an active sponsor rather than simply handing over a cheque and so this is another way in which we are demonstrating our support to the Island’s young sports stars.’
