Manx Telecom is to become the new face of the prestigious Post TT Races.
The event, a traditional finale to the TT fortnight since 1991, had been threatened following the withdrawal of tourism department sponsorship.
Southern 100 press officer Phil Edge says cancellation would have been ‘a huge disappointment to everyone connected with the event; the organisers, the riders and the thousands of spectators who come to watch the racing’.
The Manx Telecom Post TT Races feature the 125cc and 250cc classes but the exact configuration of the race programme has yet to be decided.
The event will be staged on Saturday, June 12, the day after the Senior TT.
Should the Senior TT be postponed to the Saturday, then the Manx Telecom Post TT races will take place on Sunday, June 13.
