Microgaming supports Island's first Para Swimming Team

Three athletes gearing up for Paralympics 2020

Microgaming has been announced as the sponsor of the first ever IOM Para Swimming Team.

The company (under the Microgaming PlayItForward banner) will help the team with pool costs, coaching and travel on and off-Island to compete.

The team currently comprises three members: Tom Callister, 15, an S9 swimmer; Letisha Ellis, 11, an S15 swimmer, and Ben Grainger, 12, an S10 swimmer.

All three athletes have qualified for the National Para Swimming Championships in December in Manchester.

Claire Coleman, Head of Microgaming PlayItForward, said: ‘Getting to know Lee (swimming head coach) and hearing the Para Team members’ stories over the past few months has been inspiring.

‘It is our pleasure to support this flourishing team; we hope this announcement will encourage more youngsters living with disabilities to get involved in this enjoyable sport.

‘We wish Ben, Tom and Letisha the best of luck for the British Para Swimming Championships next month – we are all routing for you!’.
