Proposals have been submitted to planners which would considerably increase the accommodation on offer at the Mount Murray Hotel in Santon.
A three storey block, standing between the end of the car park and the driving range, would have 63 'two bed' rooms and 24 one-bed rooms, in a so-called apart-hotel.
In total 150 beds would be provided which, says the hotel, would enable the Mount Murray to maximise on attracting larger sporting, conference and corporate events.
At the moment it is unable to do so, as the current bedroom facilities cannot support the high numbers required for such occasions.
