James Shimmin made senior risk manager
James Shimmin has been appointed Senior Manager, Risk Consultancy at audit, tax and advisory specialist KPMG.
Born and bred on the Island, James has 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry both in operations and compliance roles. He has worked in a number of other jurisdictions including the Cayman Islands, Malta and UK, gaining ‘hands on’ experience of audit, asset and fund management, international and retail banking serving both fiduciary providers and eGaming operators.
Most recently he has worked as Compliance, MLRO and Data Protection Officer to a number of key players within the Trust and Corporate Services sector.
A Fellow of the International Compliance Association, James is also active as a Fellow, co-founder and the current Financial Director of the Alliance of Isle of Man Compliance Professionals and he is a member of the local branch of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.
He was also a founding member of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission’s MLRO forum.
