The new approach to the production of Manx films, flagged up by Allan Bell in Tynwald a
month ago, will involve a 'much more hands-on role through the production process'.
CinemaNX, to be known as NX , is 'a new film financing and production group', which will cut down on the problems that the Manx Industry has faced such as production timing.
With much more of a 'Manx' say in things, the new system will, its hoped, iron out the problems when films get shot over here. Ideally what's needed is a steady flow into the Island.
NX will be headed by Steve Christian. He has been behind much of the success of the industry.
The Manx Development Fund, which has grown to 50 million pounds since it was established in 2002, will be the cornerstone investment to attract 'high calibre, international production to the island'.
It will be managed by Marc Samuelson.
