The Island’s new man in Brussels hopes to help shape events in the European Union instead of reacting to them.
Patrick Bourke is the new Director of European Affairs for the Manx government, working to keep his finger on the EU pulse and keep the Island briefed.
Mr Bourke previously worked at the UK Ministry of Justice, the department in charge of the Crown Dependencies.
He aims to have the Island playing its part in Europe rather than simply reacting to events there.
