A £1 million refurbishment programme at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas has been unveiled.
Twenty-two rooms at the premises on Loch Promenade have been given a makeover, to provide what Sleepwell Hotels says is 'unique international standard accommodation in the Isle of Man'.
Around £50,000 has been spent on each room, well over twice the industry standard of £20,000.
After consulting with local business executives, the outlay has bought king-size beds, timber floors, wet rooms and high speed Wi-Fi, among other things.
Managing director of the Sleepwell Hotel Group Mark Wilson told Elizabeth Cubbon he was confident the investment would pay dividends:
