ICT apprenticeships up for grabs

Scheme to help bridge sector skills gap

Time is running out for young people to apply for an Island apprenticeship scheme.

The Manx ICT Association (MICTA) in partnership with the Department of Economic Development and University College Isle of Man, has developed a new two year programme.

They hope the Digital Apprenticeship Scheme will help bridge the Island's skills gap by offering applicants first-hand experience with companies in the ICT sector.

The initiative combines work experience with classroom and remote learning, with apprentices employed for the duration of the scheme.

It means successful applicants will be paid a wage and gain exposure to the ICT community on the Island.

The Digital Apprenticeship Scheme will start in September - if interested find out more at employed.im/micta.

The closing date for applications is Friday 19 August.
