Professional body bestows top ranking
A newly-qualified accountant with big four firm PwC has topped the Isle of Man in a ranking by her professional body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.
Amy Whitty has won the Order of Merit for her performance in the Institute's advanced stage exams, which recognises candidates who score the highest average marks to qualify as a chartered practitioner.
Amy, who graduated from the University of Leeds with a law degree in 2007, practiced as an advocate at the Manx bar for just three years, before switching professions to train as an accountant in 2014.
Senior partner at PwC Ian Clague said: "Amy's success is just reward for the hard work and commitment she has shown. The Order of Merit us a superb achievement we look forward to seeing her excel in her new role as a key member of the audit team."
