Isle of Man Post Office says it has received one proposal offering an alternative to closure of Crown branches in Ramsey and Douglas.
That has come from the Ramsey Postal Cooperative, which has produced a costed business plan to establish a sub post office in the Ramsey courthouse building.
The Post Office board will now discuss the viability of the plan and whether is a better option than relocating services to a nearby Spar store.
The board also ruled out delaying the Crown office closures for another six months, requested by the Communications Workers Union.
The Post Office won't make further until its final decision is made.
