Programme for ISLEXPO 2017 now live

Two-day event returns next month

The 2017 line-up for ISLEXPO is now live with a packed programme of thought-provoking keynote speakers, expert insights and informative workshops curated with growth in mind.

The free, two-day conference takes place across the Villa Marina on May 24 and 25.

Day one focuses on start-ups, SMEs and businesses in the first stages of growth, while day two looks towards larger organisations looking at the next stages of expansion.

Industries including financial services, technology, e-Business, fintech, media and tourism will feature across the two-day programme.

Economic Development Minister, Laurence Skelly, said: ‘The programme for 2017 is looking very strong, with some new faces and the return of a few favourites from last year. ISLEXPO was created to showcase insights and advice from global experts, provide training and dynamic discussion and bring together the business community in a celebration of the Island’s innovation and talent.

‘This year’s event has evolved from 2016, with a reinvigorated local focus, more live pitching and greater opportunities to network with the Island’s brilliant business minds.’

Day one will include an opening keynote, dynamic panel discussions, ‘Pitch it!’, digital marketing sessions, Google Digital Garage, social media and brand workshops. The evening will see informal talks, live music and local food and drink in the Villa Marina gardens.

Day two will open with a networking breakfast event, hosted in conjunction with Isle of Man Business Network, followed by lead keynotes on the main stage:

Emma Sinclair MBE - co-founder of innovative business software company, Enterprise Jungle and UNICEF business mentor.

Jim Mellon - master investor and author.

Dan Cobley - former head of Google UK and Ireland and high-profile digital entrepreneur.

Day two’s programme closes at 4pm when preparation will be underway for the closing gala dinner.

Returning to sponsor the event again this year is Keystone Law.

Managing director Geoff Kermeen said: ‘It’s a really exciting time for the Isle of Man. We have real strengths, particularly in areas such as fintech, technology and digital commerce generally, and it has never been more important for the island to not only demonstrate those resources but also build upon them while protecting its future as a thriving business hub.

‘Keystone Law IOM is a tech-driven and highly entrepreneurial firm, so there is a real synergy between us and what ISLEXPO represents. We are delighted to be supporting the event once again.’
