Budget devoured by IOM Business Network
An Island business forum has passed its first anniversary buoyed by expanding membership and burgeoning interest in its events.
The former Junior Chamber of Commerce re launched itself as Isle of Man Business Network 12 months ago - confident it would develop into a dynamic, diverse and relevant organisation.
Members come from all sectors of Manx enterprise and meet several times a year at events large and small, formal and relaxed.
The group's most popular set-piece presentation - the annual post-Budget briefing at the Palace Hotel - last week attracted 230 delegates to a breakfast event (22 Feb) and provided a valued opportunity to network.
Chairman Rachel Hooper has been at the helm during the group's busy first year:
New child employment rules come into force
Tourist tax would be 'wrong move at the wrong time', says Douglas hotelier
Diesel price increases 'could put some taxi drivers out of business'
Interim census 'important for business as well as government'
