Reminder for would-be casino operators

The Department of Economic Development says it is encouraged by the number of firms which say they would like to run a casino in the Isle of Man, but there is still time for more to get in touch.

The DED is seeking expressions of interest from companies keen to set up the Island's first five-star hotel and casino complex.

The government says such a development would create jobs in construction as well as leisure, bringing gamblers and tourists to the Island.

It cites tax-free gambling in casinos and unlimited numbers of slot machines as two factors which could help create demand for the resort.

Those interested have until January 31 to get in touch.
