Business network's project to aid learning
A project has been set up by the Island's Rotary clubs to provide all children in their final year at primary school a free dictionary to help improve their spelling.
It follows a similar scheme in 2016, when Douglas Rotary Club donated dictionaries to all year 6 pupils in the capital's 12 primary schools.
An expanded Dictionary 4 Life project, distributing 900 reference books to the Island's 32 primaries, will run for a further two years.
Each student will receive an Usborne Illustrated UK Dictionary which contains 1,000 illustrations, 10,000 entries and 20,000 definitions - so youngsters will never be lost for words.
Graham Cregeen MHK, Minister for Education and Children, expressed thanks to the clubs for their generous gift.
He said: "I know the children will cherish these beautiful books as they continue their learning journey from primary to secondary school and beyond."
