Shoprite quiz raises £2,000 for Care at Home Trust

A charity quiz night at Bar George in Douglas, organised by Shoprite, raised £2,000 for the Diana Princess of Wales Care at Home Trust.

Shoprite Super Six actually topped the scores at the end of the event, closely followed by Canada Life in second and Aston International and Cains’ Legal Beagles in joint third.

Chairman of the trust, Ron Spencer, said: ‘We’re very grateful to Shoprite for organising this great quiz and to James Davis for acting as question master for the event. Thanks to all the teams – representing companies including Annexio Limited, Aston International, Cains Advocates, Canada Life, Continent 8, Ernst & Young, Lloyds Group, Mann Benham, Optimus Fiduciary, Paddy Power, Ramsey Crookall, Shoprite, Sleepwell and Sovereign Group.

‘We were also lucky to have fantastic prizes donated by Annexio, Lloyds Group, Sleepwell, Shoprite, Continent 8, Paddy Power, Ernst & Young and Sure. We all had a fun night in aid of a very deserving cause. Thanks also to Bar George for providing the perfect venue.’

Settled in 1998 by Don and Ali Westacott in fond memory of the Princess, the Trust helps to provide hospice at home services in the Isle of Man.
