Smith joins Heron and Brearley board

A new non-executive director for finance has been appointed to the board of Heron and Brearley.

Christopher Smith, 58, is deputy chief executive officer, deputy chairman and interim chief executive officer of Thomas Miller Investment (Isle of Man) Limited.

At Thomas Miller his responsibilities extend to seeking global investment opportunities and heading the company's United Kingdom and international expansion activities.

Mr Smith is a trained chartered accountant with extensive experience in finance and merchant banking at board level.

Heron and Brearley is the Isle of Man's largest hospitality company with more than 800 employees.

It says that, as a non-executive director, Mr Smith will be working with his fellow board members and senior management colleagues to support the company's governance functions, and contribute to its future strategic development.
