Statutory board application figures

Chief Minister Allan Bell says more than 250 people in the Isle of Man applied to join statutory boards and bodies in the last round of recruitment.

In the House of Keys he told Onchan MHK Zac Hall about the process of appointing people to them.

In October last year, the government advertised posts at the Manx Electricity Authority, the Water and Sewerage Authority, the Post Office, the Office of Fair Trading, the Road Transport Licensing Committee and the Public Sector Pensions Authority.

Mr Bell said it total, 254 applications were submitted.

In a related question, Treasury Minister Eddie Teare revealed there were 61 applicants for seven posts at the Financial Supervision Commission and 35 applicants for four posts at the Insurance and Pensions Authority.
