Super Sunday raises cash for charity

Pie in the Face auction

Isle of Man based eGaming firm Newfield has raised funds for the Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

A ‘Pie in the Face auction’ during its annual staff fun day made £820 for the Foundation, Newfield’s 2017 charity of the year.

Victims were selected by a staff vote and colleagues bid for the opportunity to splat a pie in their faces.

It was all part of Super Sunday, a day of activities hosted by the company at Douglas Rugby Club.

Staff enjoyed food, drink, games and activities during the event, including a boat race, water balloon challenge, assault course and sports’ day races.

To celebrate Newfield’s fifth anniversary, staff and guests were presented with a mini bottle of bubbly.

Newfield administrator and social team member Natalie Wilson-Spratt said: ‘At Newfield we pride ourselves on having a friendly team which enjoys spending time together, both in the office and outside. We regularly get involved in team events and Super Sunday was great fun.

‘Everyone had a great time joining in all the activities, and the Pie in the Face auction was a real highlight. Well done to all the “volunteers” and those who bid, they all helped raise a terrific sum for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

‘That money will be added to cash raised at other Newfield events throughout the year to assist the Foundation continue its vital work funding heart screening of young people in the Isle of Man and supporting the provision of life-saving defibrillators Island-wide.’

Natalie added: ‘I’d like to thank the rest of the social team for organising a brilliant event and we can’t wait for the next one. I’d also like to thank Douglas Rugby Club as well as Ballakelly Farm for arranging the food and drink.’
