Staff at Sure Mobile are being asked to think before they fly this month, as the firm tries to cut travel expenses and carbon emissions.
Sure’s in-house environment committee will ask employees in the Isle of Man and Channel Islands to consider alternatives such as teleconference or videoconferencing instead of booking flights to meet in person.
Environment Committee Chairman Geoff Chow (pictured) says there’s no way to completely avoid staff flying to and from meetings but he hopes as many as possible will manage to avoid flying.
During this month, it’s hopes staff will take advantage of the company’s new on-demand audio-conferencing service.
