Tax deadline approaches

The Island’s taxman is reminding people to submit contractor’s and employer’s tax returns as this year’s deadline approaches.

The final day to get them in before you face a £250 penalty is Monday May 5, that is less than a fortnight away.

The Income Tax Division says you could also face a penalty charge of £50 a day while the return is outstanding.

But there is some good news,  you can still file returns online by logging on at gov.im/onlineservices
