A company which is part of the Poundland group still hasn't confirmed it's planning to move to the Isle of Man, but work on fitting out the former Woolworths store in Strand Street, Douglas is expected to start today (Monday).
The shopping chain Dealz has already submitted plans to erect its signage on the old Woolies building in Strand Street.
The stores launched in Ireland in September and there are strong rumours Dealz could be open in Douglas before Christmas.
