The Manx holiday brochure, so long a precursor of spring, came close to being abandoned this year.
However the industry representative body, the Manx Hospitality Partnership, has agreed to take on production for a year on a trial basis.
They say that in a survey of advertisers, 85% said the brochure generated 50% of their total bookings, so they could not afford to drop it.
Theo Fleurbaay, Chairman of the MHP says he believes internet use will grow, but, he says, there will remain a place for the printed brochure:
Construction costs on the Island 18% above UK average and comparable with Outer London
NEXT store to remain open
Island's 'premier destination' for celebrations to close in December
Torden Stores announces it's closing down
