Ubuntu on Compute Stick

Firm's software wins plaudits

Manx-based Canonical Software will have its Unbuntu Linux operating system on one of the world’s smallest home computers this week.

Intel’s Compute Stick is just two inches long and plugs into an HDMI slot and is wifi-enabled: but so far has only come with Microsoft’s Windows installed.

However, this week, the gadget which sells for around a hundred pounds and has received rave reviews, will offer Ubuntu as an alternative.

Canonical says the Ubuntu version of Compute Stick will be available globally and is expected to go on sale this week.
