
Group turnover increased by 35 per cent at global on-line gaming group Webis Holdings Plc.
Its interim results for the period up to the end of last November show a rise to £71.5 million, compared to £53m in 2007.
Sportsbook turnover increased by 44 per cent to £56.4m, gross profit by 34 per cent, and there was an operating profit of £256,000.
Denham Eke, Chairman of Webis Holdings Plc, said: ‘It’s pleasing to report the company has made good progress during the second quarter of the current financial year and these results represent a substantial turnaround in the company's performance.
‘The board's strategy of focusing on marketing initiatives and the ongoing development of the company's IT systems and website, in tandem with capital expenditure, where appropriate, is beginning to reap rewards.
‘The board is optimistic about the company's future prospects and I look forward to providing an update on further progress in due course.’
