
Tax havens are firmly on the agenda of the 20 most powerful countries in the world, with headlines today that Gordon Brown will chair a meeting on the subject at their next summit.
The announcement confirms the fears of Treasury Minister Allan Bell that a concerted assault on the offshores is taking place.
In Tynwald, some backbenchers claimed they were being kept in the dark over the government’s response to the situation.
