
The Minister for Infrastructure is asking Tynwald for just under £1.3million to repair what he describes as ‘the last piece in the jigsaw’ of the Manx Electric Railway refurbishment.
When Tynwald reconvenes on Tuesday, Phil Gawne will seek approval for £1,285,000 to repair and refurbish Ballure Bridge near Ramsey.
If approved, work will begin at the beginning of next month, and will include scaffolding the whole structure, replacing severely corroded metal sections and upgrading the supporting beams.
