Decision was announced at the councils February meeting
Douglas Council has given more than 100 households a bigger bin.
This comes after the council introduced a fortnightly bin collection service last year which led to several complaints.
However the authority says it received 164 requests for a household bin assessment and the ‘majority’ of its 12,000 residents have adjusted well to the change.
It also says the recycling rates in the town have trebled and will be extending the garden waste collection from February to November this year.
