15 questions for House of Keys today

Moorhouse to ask about challenges within DHSC

Fifteen questions are set to be asked in the House of Keys today – with topics ranging from the meat plant, doctor’s appointments and the former TT footbridge.

The sitting will get underway at 10am.

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse will ask the chief minister about challenges within health and social care.

It has the potential to occupy a slice of the scheduled one hour of time available for questions before standing orders would need to be suspended.

Other inquiries centre on challenges faced by pensioners and what independent support mechanisms are in place to assist new ministers.

After questions the Energy Bill - which has reached its clauses stage – will be considered.

This could allow financially distressed energy suppliers to be placed into a form of special administration.

But it’s emphasised it is an enabling bill that provides the means but doesn’t specifically establish the process in practice.
