But Gary Thompson says marshals urgently needed for first day
The Clerk of the Course for the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT says the new, expanded schedule this year will offer more flexibility for race organisers and officials.
Gary Thompson will once again take charge of proceedings on the Snaefell Mountain Course from 17-29 August and is hopeful for good weather following what he calls 'hellish' conditions in 2024.
Whilst he says preparations have been smooth, they're in urgent need of marshals to help run the opening MGP session due to take place this Sunday, 17 August.
Mr Thompson explains why it's particularly important the first few sessions of 2025 are able to go ahead:
When it comes to course maintenance, Mr Thompson was also asked about works which have taken place since the 2025 Isle of Man TT Races and why planned road works in September on a section of the Mountain Road haven't taken place ahead of this month's meeting.
In response, he says an issue identified at Brandywell ahead of TT 2025 has been revisited and 'squared away' ahead of the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT.
He's also confirmed two burst water mains near the course - one at Appledene and one near Douglas Road Corner - have both been investigated and addressed.
In relation to next month's Mountain Road works, Mr Thompson says he understands that this is a project which was previously due to take place before TT, but was unable to do so due to issues with equipment at the time.
After this, he adds, it was agreed between the race organisers and Department of Infrastructure that the work would be carried out after the conclusion of MGP/Classic TT 2025.
