66% of arrests over TT period were local residents

More than 160 arrests in total during 2023 event

More than 160 people were arrested on the Isle of Man during TT 2023.

Sixty-six per cent of those detained by police in the two-week period were local residents.

Fifty-seven visitors were arrested for contravening Manx laws.

Police say the top offences - in no particular order - included drink driving, driving whilst unfit, assault, drug possession, drunk and disorderly, criminal damage and being found drunk in a public place.

In addition the Isle of Man Constabulary has confirmed it issued 282 Endorsable Fixed Penalty Notices for traffic offences and 14 Fixed Penalty Notices for the same.

Fifteen prosecution files were submitted against those flouting traffic rules along with seven cautions.

Manx Radio asked the constabulary to provide information which showed how many crashes officers dealt with, on open roads, during the period – this was not provided.
