Manx women continue to make journey
New statistics show 84 Manx women travelled to the UK for an abortion at their own expense last year.
Released by the UK Department of Health, the figure covers women who provided a Manx address while attending an English or Welsh clinic.
But pro-choice groups say it does not reflect those who stayed with nearby relatives, or students who underwent terminations while living away.
CALM - the Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation - says the figure also does not account for women who bought illegal abortion pills online.
The latest figure is a fall on the previous two years - 105 in 2015, and 88 in 2016.
However, UK charity Abortion Support Network claims it's seen a 25% increase in calls from women on the Island requiring advice or financial help towards their journeys.
