Abortion discussions 'profoundly important'

MHK says careful consideration is vital

Island politicians share many of the same views about proposed abortion reforms, according to the MHK who this week called for the measures to be further scrutinised.

East Douglas member Chris Robertshaw ultimately failed in his attempt to send the proposals to a committee.

The bill passed its second reading unanimously.

Ahead of the clauses of the bill being debated later this month, Mr Robertshaw is confident members of parliament will now carefully consider how to alter what he calls ‘outdated laws’.
