Abortion reform opposition to continue, say protestors

Legal action considered if Bill becomes law

Opposition to abortion reform on the Island will continue with legal challenges - even if the bill becomes law on the Island.

That's according to the director of the Centre for Bioethical Reform in the United States, Greg Cunningham.

The organisation is the American parent of the project Abort 67, whose members have been protesting against abortion on the Island.

The Abortion Reform Bill returns to the Keys today (Tues 24) and MHKs will continue to consider access zones for abortion services.

Mr Cunningham says anyone who believes their fight against abortion will go away, even if the bill becomes law, is mistaken.

The man behind the Abortion Reform Bill, Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson, says Manx politicians won't succumb to threats made by external groups.
