A motorcyclist from the UK has been killed in a head-on collision on the Mountain Road (10 Sept).
Police say a bike and van travelling in opposite directions, were involved in the accident at Kepple Gate at around 7.15pm.
The rider of the BMW RR bike, who was heading towards Douglas, died at the scene from his injuries.
The driver and passenger in the Fiat Doblo van, who were local residents, were shaken but uninjured.
The road was closed for seeral hours as emerengcy services dealt with the scene and began investigations, but re opened at around 10.15pm.
Inspector Derek Flint said the accident happened in near perfect evening driving conditions.
He has appealed for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with 'significant observations' immediately prior to it, to contact the Roads Policing Unit.
