Veiws expressed in repose to UK figures
The issue of adolescent self-harming 'feels like a crisis' on the Island.
That's the view of Derek Proudlove, the Consultant Psychiatrist at CAMHS, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service on the Island.
He was speaking following the publication of a report from the Children's Society in the UK which claimed nearly 25% of 14-year-old girls self-harm, and suggested children's mental health was in crisis in the UK.
Mr Proudlove says whilst he believes the situation is better here, it still feels like a crisis:
