A government minister admits he’s on a potential collision course with private hire taxi drivers.
It’s as his department considers introducing a charging regime at Ronaldsway with the introduction of a £1 fee per pick-up from the airport.
Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne knows such a move would not be popular and says the views of taxi drivers will be taken into account before a decision is made.
However, he says the airport must be put on a more commercial footing.
