Action take to address budget challenges
A freeze on recruiting staff in roles deemed 'non-essential' does not mean other workers in the Island’s health service aren't equally valued.
Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft says introducing the freeze was difficult decision, but 'immediate action' was needed to address the Department's financial challenges. .
The Department this week confirmed only vacancies critical to frontline services will be advertised for the foreseeable future.
It's as the department looks to stay within its £200 million annual budget.
