Alleged assault on woman in Castletown

Witnesses sought to incident in early hours of Saturday

Police are investigating an alleged assault on a woman in Castletown.

It happened just before 6am yesterday (Sat 8th) when officers were called to an address on the Promenade near to James Road.

The 36 year old alleges she was assaulted after being out with friends.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Maddocks says officers have spoken to a number of witnesses, but they would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between midnight and 6am yesterday morning who might have seen a woman dressed in a black coat, dark jeans and green or blue jumper . . .  carrying a green handbag with pink flowers on it.

Police officers will continue to carry out enquiries in the area.
