MHKs to resume debate of controversial Bill
MHKs are set to continue debating assisted dying in the House of Keys this morning, marking the seventh day of discussion in the clauses stage.
During this stage, the House will consider and debate the Bill clause by clause before it proceeds to the third and final reading at a subsequent sitting.
Today (9 July) will see focus turned to the potential for an 'opt-in' system for healthcare professionals to join a register to provide assisted dying services.
Mover of the Bill, Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson, hopes today will bring the Isle of Man a step closer to finalising the legislation.
The topic has faced heavy scrutiny in both political and public settings.
