Appointment of Attorney General extended

John Quinn here for another two years

The Isle of Man's Attorney General is to continue in his role for a further two years.

John Quinn QC had been due to retire this May but will now stay in post until 31 December 2021.

The extended appointment has been formally agreed by Her Majesty The Queen.

The Attorney General acts as the legal adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, council of ministers, government departments and statutory boards.

He is also responsible for representing the Crown in the prosecution of offences and for the drafting of government legislation.
